UNWTO acknowledges Grupo Xcaret’s 360° Xafety model and contributions

Grupo Xcaret accomplished an important work by helping to set up the reactivation and reopening protocols in attraction parks

From the first moment in which the travel restrictions and quarantine measures were implemented worldwide, at the end of March and the beginning of April, Grupo Xcaret undertook the task of developing the 360° Xeguridad model, a robust plan of safety and hygiene protocols that presented prevention measures against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19), covering more than 1,300 actions in 104 categories to guarantee the health and safety of both our visitors, partners and guests, as well as that of our collaborators and suppliers.

This measures package was presented to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), as part of the company’s collaboration before the Board of Directors of Affiliate Members to enrich the recommendations and measures that would allow to reactivate and recover the tourist activity. This collaboration allowed us to become part of the advisory team that developed the “IAAPA Reopening Guide” (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions).

Grupo Xcaret’s valuable contributions during this time earned us recognition by UNWTO in the framework of the 42nd Plenary Session of UNWTO Affiliate Members, held at the beginning of November, applauding the work in the preparation of the reopening protocols in amusement parks.

In our company people are a priority, so it is an honor to receive this recognition. We know that the main challenge we face in the tourism industry is to recover and generate confidence in travelers and to achieve this, it is necessary to provide them with security and tranquility, so we maintain our commitment to continue working on actions that allow us to promote and reactivate our industry.

Miguel Quintana Pali, president and founder of Grupo Xcaret
